Boccia:  

Boccia isn't your run-of-the-mill game; it's a precision-driven experience that's part chess, part bowling, and all strategy. Originally crafted for athletes with disabilities, this indoor sport has become a global sensation.

Boccia is available for people with all abilities, creating a fun, inclusive and relaxed environment.

Available at Massey University Recreation Centre every Wednesday between 5:30-6:30pm, come give it a go!

Wheelchair Basketball:

Experience the thrill of speed, skill, and teamwork in the dynamic world of Wheelchair Basketball! Open to all abilities, come have a go!

Massey Recreation centre every Wednesday between 4-5pm.

Monthly youth events:

Every month Parafed Manawatu holds a monthly activity for our youth members.

This ranges from sporting activities or programmes to adventure activities such as blokarting. These events give our youth members a unique opportunity to try new activities, make new friends and engage with local clubs and sporting organisations.

Wicked Wednesday give it a go days:

Every Wednesday from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Massey Recreation Centre, we invite you to join our "Give it a Go" sessions. Choose from a variety of activities, including table tennis, rowing machines, and Boccia. Everyone, regardless of age or ability, is welcome to participate and give it a try!

Goalball:

Goalball is a dynamic and inclusive team sport designed specifically for individuals with visual impairments.
Relying on your keen sense of hearing and spatial awareness, players strategically block, throw, and defend against the ball, creating an intense and thrilling experience. Goalball not only promotes physical fitness but also fosters teamwork, communication, and a deep sense of inclusivity within the visually impaired community.

Wheelchair Rugby:

Played on a regulation-sized basketball court, Wheelchair Rugby provides a space for you to let your mid week emotions out.  The fast-paced and hard-hitting nature of wheelchair rugby makes it a thrilling spectacle, emphasising strategy, skill, and teamwork. 

Every Wednesday at Palmerston North Boys College between 6:30pm-8:30pm.

Achilles Manawatu
Run walk or push yourself with Achilles Manawatu, part of Achilles International NZ. Achilles give people with disabilities the opportunity to participate alongside able-bodied athletes in local, national and international events. 

Join Achilles Manawatu for weekly training on Tuesday evenings and Palmerston North parkrun every Saturday morning. All ages welcome. Athletes are buddied with able bodied guides to support them at trainings and events, to walk, run or push themselves to achieve personal goals and we have lots of fun along the way.
